Smitts, who has captained the side for the previous 3 seasons, is leading our ambitions to get into the Women’s Midlands Premier division for the first time in Earlswood history.
Laura previously led the side to back to back 2nd place finishes in division one but was frustrated by bad weather last season. and has set promotion as a definite target this year.
The destructive right handed batsmen is both the top run scorer and wicket taker in Earlswood Women’s history. Smitts has been the centre piece of a developing side that is now hitting its peak. While availability may have troubled the young side with exams and university commitments over the last few years there is a sense that this year will be different.
The former Warwickshire CC and Central Sparks academy player, Laura, is confident in the talent of this youthful side hitting their stride in the upcoming season. The side has continued to smash their opposition away with high scoring games that sees multiple batters passing 50 and 100. Led by Laura this side definitely has the ability to make Earlswood history this year.
