Meet the Captains - Chris Harrison - 1st XI

Mark Dixon24 Feb - 18:21

The dawn of a new era at Earlswood Cricket Club comes in the form of Chris Harrison.

Chris will be the new 1XI skipper for the upcoming season. Having previously spent 13 seasons as 2nd team captain, Chris has made the step up to try and guide the 1s back up to division 2 during the 2025 season.

Having joined Earlswood in 2000 alongside brother Lewis, Chris has become a regular face around the club and a very well respected figure. During his time as second team captain, he oversaw a successful side that was known for winning tough games when it mattered at crunch time. He will be hoping that he can translate this into a 1s side that is looking to bounce back this year.

As a batsman, Chris is known for his destructive style which allows him to take attacks apart late on into an innings. His nature as a captain is one of demanding leadership but extremely pragmatic for a team around him.

Everybody at Earlswood is absolutely thrilled that Chris has decided to take up the role as 1XI Skipper.

Joining Chris at the helm will be Alex Laud. Alex, who was captain for the previous 6 seasons, has been without doubt the best batsman at the club since he joined. Consistently averaging over 40 with 10+ hundreds in the 7 seasons that he has played for the club, the man is nothing short of exceptional. Alex’s experience and leadership qualities will perfectly compliment Chris to be a formidable partnership.
