Hi all,
Thanks for everyone’s attendance at our All Stars & Dynamo programmes. The energy & enthusiasm has been exceptional from all.
Whilst it’s fantastic seeing so many children on site and wanting to learn/play cricket, we do have some concerns about the activities we’ve seen taking place over the last few weeks that are not related to our programmes. The Earlswood pitch is a cricket pitch, not a public park and it’s imperative that we try and maintain the ground as best we can. With this in mind, please can you, and your children, adhere to these rules. We don’t want to be put in a position where we are requesting that people leave the site:
• No footballs – if the people who attend at the bottom of the pitch want to play football, please go to a local park.
• No bikes/scooters to be ridden on site. This damages the pitch more than any other activity. We suggest bikes/scooters are left at home.
• Please respect the furniture – we had chairs being broken (purposely) last Friday.
• No-one should be entering the square, which is roped off. Please also ensure children do not swing on the rope, or push/pull the metal poles. This makes bigger, deeper holes which are hard to repair.
• We also had a large amount of litter left behind last week. There are plenty of bins in and around the clubhouse.
• We will endeavour to keep the bar open as late as we can, but everyone involved on a Friday night (coaches & bar staff) are volunteers and are giving up their own time.
• If you have siblings on site, please keep hold of them, or at least keep one eye on them. Last Friday, we had siblings on the square, in the nets and one trying to wander out of the front gate! We can’t be responsible for the safety of children not participating in our activities.
Friday nights are the heartbeat of the club, and the atmosphere is amazing. Please help us to ensure that this continues.
Thanks
Jez, on behalf of The ECC Committee
